•    The “merger” is when Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall legally became Ergo Bank, effective March 22, 2023. The “conversion” between Ergo Bank and Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall will be this coming August when all data is converted into Ergo Bank’s database. 
•    Each primary account holder with Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall will receive a Welcome Guide this August that will include what Ergo Bank offers, important account information, and account disclosures. Some households may receive multiple packets.

The name, Ergo, was thoughtfully designed to capture our strategic position and unique promise of accommodating today’s banking needs through convenience, comfort, and customer satisfaction.

Q: Who is Ergo Bank?
A: Farmers State Bank was founded on February 1, 1910, in Markesan, WI, and built on a time-honored connection with our customers and our community through trust, experience, service, and satisfaction. In 1991, State Bank of Fox Lake merged with Markesan under the name Farmers State Bank. In March of 2018, Farmers State Bank changed its name to Ergo Bank to support the vision of delivering ‘Better Banking. By Design.’

Q: Where is Ergo Bank located?
A: Ergo Bank has branches in Markesan and Fox Lake. Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) are located in Markesan, Fox Lake, Burnett, Lebanon, and Poynette. Ergo Bank serves these communities and the surrounding areas through customer-friendly experiences.

Q: What is an ITM?
A: An ITM is an Interactive Teller Machine that allows customers to speak with a live teller and perform safe and easy transactions without ever stepping into a physical bank location. Customers can deposit checks and cash, make cash withdrawals and loan payments, transfer funds, and even open an account. In addition, the ATM option is available 24/7.

Q: Will there be changes to the Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall staff?
A: No, the friendly faces that serve you now will continue to serve you after the merger.

Q: Will all Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall branches stay open?
A: Yes, all Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall branches will stay open for business after the merger.

Q: Who should I contact if I have questions about my account(s)?
A: Please continue to contact your local branch if you have any questions regarding your account(s).

Q: Will Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall phone numbers change?
A: No, all Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall phone numbers will remain the same after the conversion.

Q: Can I use my Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall debit card after the conversion date this August?
A: No, after the conversion date in August you will no longer be able to use your Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall debit card. If you have a Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall debit card you automatically will be issued a new one from Ergo Bank that you will receive in the mail with a number to call to activate your card.

Q: What will happen to my deposit account(s)?
A: Your Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall account(s) will be converted to similar Ergo Bank accounts based on the type of account, features, and benefits. A Welcome Guide will be sent to each primary account holder this summer that will supply detailed information on your accounts.

Q: Will my account number change?
A: When your account is converted from F & M to Ergo in August, your account number will remain the same. If you make any account changes prior to the conversion in August, your F & M account will be closed, and an Ergo account will be opened with a new account number at that time.

Q: Will automatic transfers, automatic loan payments, and direct deposits continue to work?
A: Automatic transfers, automatic loan payments, and direct deposits will continue to work after the conversion. However, if you notice any issues or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your local branch.

Q: Will the merger affect my existing Farmers & Merchants Bank of Kendall loan(s)?
A: No, your interest rates, terms, and payments of your loan will remain the same until maturity.

Q: Will my loan number(s) change?
A: All loan numbers will remain the same.

Q: Who will be servicing my loan(s)?
A: Your local loan officers will continue to serve and assist you with your loans. You may continue to make your loan payments in Kendall, Wilton, & Norwalk as usual. Checks should be made payable to Ergo Bank going forward.
